1. PS3 error codes and solutions

80710102 - Issue connecting online
Go to Settings

80010514 - Issue reading disc
If you get this error if you ever want your PS3 to read disc ever again you will have to send it into Sony for warranty, and if it is out of warranty you will have to pay 150.00 for them to fix it.
IMPORTANT: Before sending it in do a full system backup, restore the system, and deactivate your PSN account.

80029564 - Can't install Playstation Network download comtent
Redownload the content you are trying to install, and try again.

80130203 - Connection has timed out
Open the following ports.
SCEA Game Servers
TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223, and 10070 - 10080
UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658, and 10070
PlayStation®Network
TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223
UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658

80710092 - Issue connecting online
Go to Settings < Network Setting < Media Servers in your XMB and set to off.

80710101 - Issue connecting online
Turn off PS3, Turn off Router, Turn off Modem.
Let stand for a minute
Turn on Modem - wait for it to come to a ready status, Turn on Router - wait for it to come to a ready status, Turn on PS3
If above does not work change to the public primary and secondary DNS which is 4.2.2.1
If none of these work, contact your ISP.

80710102 - Issue connecting online
See above error.

80710723 - Network Server Timeout
Open the following ports.
SCEA Game Servers
TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223, and 10070 - 10080
UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658, and 10070
PlayStation®Network
TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223
UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658

80028EA5 - Issue connecting online
See above error.

8002A548 - Issue connecting to Playstation Network
If you see this error, your connection has been dropped, and all you have to do is sign back in.

8002AD23 - Issue connecting to Playstation Network
See above error.

8002F147 - Issue updating the PS3 system software
The message "press X to restart system is displayed", do what it say and immediatly do a hard reset while it is searching for the update, and enter the recovery menu, insert storage media or a USB device and redownload the update by selecting option 6.

8002F994 - Issue updating the PS3 system software
Use storage media or a USB device to get the update.

8002F997 - Issue updating the PS3 system software
Backup / Format your HDD and reinstall the update.

8013013E - Can't conect online
Reenter WEP / WPA key.

8013030F - Unable to detect access point
Power cyle modem / router.

807101FF - Problems with the host name of the PS3 system
Go to Settings

8071053D - Issue connecting to Playstation Network
Hard reset your PS3.

80710B23 - Network Server Timeout
Go to network settings and set the MTU to 1492

80710D23 - Network Server Timeout
Wait a few hours and sign back in.

80028A07 - Cannot add a Friiend to your block list
Delete the person from your friends list and then add them to your block list.

8002A227 - Cannot use Playstation Network
Call Sony and try to get them to unban your account.

8002292D - Unable to sync trophies
Try to sync again in a few minutes.

DNS Error Most of the time this error can be resolved by simply, with resetting the network settings.

To many D/Ls just w8 a while and try again

Will not play demos off HDD, when Blu-ray is in etc. try it over again, then take blu-ray out, if doesn’t work restart machine

Then shut off your modem/router, for about 5 mintues, then turn the modem back up first and let it sync, then turn the router back on(if using one) and let it sycn. Reconnect your power cable and flip the back swtich up again. Then make a new network connnection.

Go to Display Settings then HDMI (or whatever your connection is) and choose Automactic, not Custom. I always had it on Custom before. Seems when you choose Automatic it allows the PS3 to select 50hz which is what you need for PAL games that don’t support 60hz.

if this happens to you
if theres a disc in it hold down the eject button until it comes out then go into the revovery menu to restore system before sending it in to sony
sorry you will lose the information on your HDD when you get this

Disc Read Error
if you get this the icon for the disc will not on the XMB
if this happens before sending in to sony do a full system backup, deactivate your psn account and restore the system

XMB not loading
if you get this when you turn on your PS3 it will not bring up the XMB when you turn it on
if this happens to you access the recovery menu and do option 2,3,4,5 until one of them works
if none of these work you will have to send it in to sony and you will lose everything saved on your HDD

Red Screen Of Death
if you get this when you turn on your PS3 instead XMB coming you will see a red screen that says "A serious error has occured contact technical for assistance"
before sending it in to sony access the recovery menu and restore the system
if you get this you will lose everything saved on your HDD

Smoke
if you see smoke coming out of your PS3 when you turn it on turn it off immediatly and unplug it next contact sony about sending it in
do not turn it on or attemp to access the recovery menu
you are going to lose everything saved on your HDD when you get this
